Nigel Wright are working with Innovia Films who are a leading global manufacturer of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) films. supplying highly differentiated speciality products into the packaging, labels, tobacco overwrap and securities markets.  They employ >850 people and our focus is on delivering high quality speciality products, maintaining strong customer relationships, Research & Development and unsurpassed service.
 With a turnover, more than Є292m, their total annual film production capacity currently stands at more than 100,000 tonnes.
 
Due to the retirement of the current job holder an opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager, based in Wigton reporting to the Plant Manager.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the Quality Control Department ensuring that quality standards are continuously attained, reviewed and developed.

 

 

Job Role:

  • Supervision of QC laboratory team (up to 10)
  • Ensuring compliance against manufacturing ISO Standards
  • Ensuring product meets agreed specifications of the customer
  • Ensuring the operation of an effective system for the recording and control of products returned from the market place under the complaint process is maintained
  • To continue to develop a statistical process control approach to Quality control.
  • Liaise with internal and external networks on new techniques and methods as appropriate
  • Develop & maintain KPI’s for department
  • Encourage and embed a continuous improvement culture within the department
  • Support customer visits as required on quality related issues
  • Implement quality systems and manage department continuous improvement activities.
  • Manage / conduct full internal audit schedule
  • Manage relationships with on-site visits and customers
  • Liaise with internal and external networks on new techniques and methods as appropriate

 

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience within a FMCG / high-volume manufacturing business
  • Comprehensive knowledge of QMS requirements related to ISO9001
  • IT literately across excel and database software
  • Effective root cause analysis, FMEA and Continuous Improvement knowledge would also be advantageous. 

 


In addition, the successful candidate will need to be flexible, self-motivated and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, together with a working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases and the ability to work with many conflicting demands and take regular decisions.
